18th May 2020: Making nkd ( ) a Better Business

I’ve tried hard throughout this lockdown period to use the time as best I can to make nkd ( ) a better business. An example of this is changing our appointment booking software. With this will come another important change, which I know that many of our customers will be pleased to hear….

We will no longer require payment in full at the time of booking. Our new appointment booking software allows us to use hotel-type billing functionality, whereby we ask for payment card details at the time of booking, and then payment is debited from that card 24 hours before your appointment.

But what does “making nkd a better business” mean to you?

I’ve included a list of questions below. While I’m not expecting you to answer all of these questions, I’d really appreciate it if you could send us your thoughts if you read any of them, and an immediate response or thought jumps out at you. Please email us at hello@nkdwaxing.com to do that.

These are such important questions for me to know the answers to, and I would really appreciate your help with it. While I, along with most other beauty salons and hairdressers in the land, am expecting an initial rush of customers once we reopen our doors, that doesn’t necessarily mean that business is going to be healthy in the long-term. As you might imagine, last week’s chat in the media about the “recession to end all recessions” was not exactly music to the ears of a small business owner (as if we needed anything else to strike the fear of god into us right now). However, the situation is what it is and there’s nothing that you or I can do to change to it. So instead of worrying about it or feeling glum, then clearly the best course of action for me right now is to take measures that will truly and earnestly strengthen nkd in the long term.

Thank you for your help with this
