Hope you had a pleasant weekend.
For me, today feels like a bit of a milestone. It’s 4 weeks today since businesses such as ours were told categorically to close and the current restrictions on our daily movements were put in place.
Meanwhile, if we look forward, 6 weeks’ today would take us to Monday 1st June. Now I’m as uninformed as the next layman but that’s the kind of time where I’m currently putting my money on businesses such as nkd – which are essentially one-to-one and do not involve any kind of social crowding – potentially being allowed to reopen in some form or another. Of course, that could be totally wishful thinking on my part but I figure that there’s no harm in being optimistic.
(I would be amazed, on the other hand, if the current restrictions were lifted any sooner than 6 weeks’ time). So the way I see it going is that after this latest round of 3-week restrictions have ended, another 3 weeks of lockdown will be put into place, which would take us to the end of May, and at that point, they will start being gradually lifted.
Six weeks in the current climate is a really long time, isn’t it? Count back 6 weeks’ from now and it was early March. I doubt any of us would have imagined in our worst nightmares then what was around the corner. So I keep telling myself that surely my supposition is not that unreasonable, based on the hope that the curve might decrease in the next 6 weeks at roughly the same rate that it increased in the last 6 weeks? Maybe you think I’m totally crazy for saying that or you fundamentally disagree with me, which is absolutely fine. Time will tell, obviously!
But if were looking at some kind of “normality” 6 weeks from now, that would mean that we both need to start planning for that from a hair removal perspective*! So please remember our advice, which is TO STEP AWAY FROM THE RAZOR! If you were to have ignored our advice until now, we won’t hold it against you, as long as you promise not to do it again from this point in time ;).
As you know, as alternatives to waxing (and shaving), we’ve been promoting the idea of trimming your intimate and/or body hair with the clipper attachment of an electric razor, or, shock horror, just letting it all grow out, and going au natural for a few weeks/months while we are closed. If you are trimming, you can carry that on for a few more weeks yet depending on how quickly your hair grows.
So that’s it for today. I hope you have a good start to the week and I’ll be back in touch on Wednesday

*P.S. In terms of us thinking about/hoping for an early June re-opening and the opening of the appointment book for new bookings/rearrangements of already paid-for treatments, watch this space. It’s obviously too early to start looking at that at the moment, so no need to try and contact us about it, but I hope to be in touch about it, some time in the next month….
