Despite the massive amount of uncertainty that still exists around the government’s exit strategy and until we’re advised differently, I’m still going for Monday 1st June as my internal reopening date.
So that’s 4 weeks’ today. I’ll be sending out information soon about how you can go online and either reschedule or book your own appointments from that date onwards. I’m hoping we can get as many appointments in the diary via online booking as possible, which will definitely help save the sanity of our Front of House staff when we reopen! Then, if the reopening date moves either forwards or backwards from Monday 1st June, at least we have a starting point for the rearrangements (and again, we’ll be looking to get you to reschedule these online yourselves, where possible).
I’ve actually used the time we’ve been closed to switch appointment book software. That means that the current nkd app, for those of you who use it, needs deleting from your phone. We’ll be releasing details of the new nkd booking app very soon, which we’re extremely excited about. The current online booking links on our website will also soon be replaced with a new online webstore. That is all irrelevant at the moment, however, because our diary is completely closed off so no bookings at all can be made via any method right now (as has been the case since we shut on Monday 23rd March).
But as soon as all of the new functionality is finalised and ready to accept bookings, I will reopen the diary from 1st June onwards and let you know.
Once again, I would say that if you have been naughty and ignored our advice to STEP AWAY FROM THE RAZOR, now is the time to actually listen to us and STEP AWAY FROM THE RAZOR! You will have no choice to do this if you want an appointment in early June, because we will need May’s regrowth in order to carry out your wax (as usual, we will not be able to carry out an effective wax on any areas that have been shaved or have had the hair removed in any other way in the previous 3 weeks).
It looks like this is definitely going to be the week when the government does finally share some detail about how it plans to reopen the economy, so I’m hoping that we will have a lot more idea about timings by the end of this week and just how realistic – or not! – my 1st June date is.

P.S. – Of course, many of you reading this will have treatments on account, either from a 10 for 8 package purchase you made before Christmas, and/or from an existing booking you had made and paid for before we shut which we’ve been unable to fulfil. All of these pre-paid appointments and treatments on account will be transferred from our old appointment book to the new one, but ensuring the accuracy and completeness of that transfer of information is exactly what’s keeping me busy at the moment!
