Professional Conduct Policy for Male Intimate Waxing ClientsÂ
At nkd, we’ve specialised in male intimate waxing for more than 17 years and have carried out thousands of treatments for clients from across the UK.
We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built, reflected in the hundreds of five-star reviews we’ve received from clients who appreciate our professionalism, expertise and welcoming approach.
Male intimate waxing is a highly personal treatment. Our priority is to ensure that every client receives an exceptional experience in an environment that feels safe, comfortable and respectful. Equally important is ensuring that every member of our team feels safe, respected and supported while carrying out their work.
This Professional Conduct Policy explains the standards of behaviour we expect from all clients attending male intimate waxing appointments at nkd.

Why do we have this policy?Â
The overwhelming majority of our clients are polite, respectful and professional throughout their appointments. We genuinely enjoy providing male intimate waxing treatments and helping clients feel more comfortable and confident.
Unfortunately, like many businesses providing intimate treatments, we have occasionally experienced behaviour from a very small minority of clients that has crossed professional boundaries.
Whilst these incidents are rare, we have a duty of care to protect the safety, wellbeing and dignity of our therapists.
This policy exists to make our expectations clear before your appointment begins, so that both you and your therapist can feel relaxed and focused entirely on the treatment itself.

Our therapists are professionalsÂ
Our therapists are highly trained female waxing specialists with extensive experience in male intimate waxing.
They attend work to provide professional treatments in exactly the same way that you would expect from any other healthcare, beauty or personal care professional.
Male intimate waxing is never treated as anything other than a professional treatment.
We therefore expect the same professionalism and respect from every client.

Professional standards during your appointmentÂ
Whilst friendly conversation is always welcome, all conversation and behaviour must remain appropriate and professional throughout your appointment.
The following behaviour is not acceptable (this list is not exhaustive):
- Asking your therapist out on a date.Â
- Asking for your therapist’s telephone number, social media details or any other personal contact information.Â
- Asking about your therapist’s relationship status or personal life in a way that goes beyond normal, polite conversation.Â
- Repeatedly complimenting your therapist or making comments that could reasonably be interpreted as flirtatious or personal.Â
- Making sexual comments, jokes or innuendos.Â
- Attempting to steer the conversation towards sexual topics, experiences or fantasies.Â
- Making comments about your therapist’s appearance or body that go beyond normal courtesy.Â
- Deliberately exposing yourself unnecessarily.Â
- Behaving in a sexually suggestive manner.Â
- Touching your therapist or attempting to make physical contact that is not required for the treatment.Â
- Any behaviour, comments or conduct that cause your therapist to feel uncomfortable, intimidated, threatened or disrespected.Â
These examples are intended as guidance only. Any behaviour that crosses professional boundaries or causes concern will be treated seriously.

What if I become aroused during my treatment?Â
We understand that this is one of the questions many first-time clients worry about.
A natural, involuntary physiological response is very different from deliberate inappropriate behaviour.
Our experienced therapists understand that, on rare occasions, an erection may occur naturally as a result of nerves, temperature changes or involuntary physical responses. If this happens briefly and without any inappropriate behaviour, it is not something that either you or your therapist should feel embarrassed about.
However, deliberately attempting to become aroused, making sexual comments, behaving in a sexually suggestive manner or treating the appointment as anything other than a professional waxing treatment is entirely different and will not be tolerated.

Many clients also find reassurance in our guide Is Male Intimate Waxing Embarrassing?, which explains why there’s usually far less to worry about than people imagine.

Therapist allocationÂ
To protect the wellbeing of our team and maintain professional boundaries, nkd does not accept therapist requests for male intimate waxing appointments.
All male intimate waxing clients will be allocated to a suitably trained therapist at the salon’s discretion.
Where appointments are booked online with a particular therapist, we reserve the right to reallocate that appointment to another member of our team at any time, without prior notice or explanation.
This policy applies equally to all male intimate waxing clients and is designed to support the welfare of our therapists, maintain professional boundaries and ensure the fair allocation of appointments across our team.

Our zero-tolerance policyÂ
If, at any stage during your appointment, your therapist believes that your behaviour or conversation has crossed a professional boundary, she will end the treatment immediately, leave the treatment room and notify a manager.
Your treatment will be terminated immediately.
As all first appointments are paid for in advance, no refund will be given, regardless of how much of the treatment has been completed.
Where appropriate, you may also be refused future appointments at nkd.
In serious cases, or where we believe a criminal offence may have been committed, the police will be contacted.

Before your first appointmentÂ
All new male intimate waxing clients are asked to read this Professional Conduct Policy before attending their appointment.
Before we can confirm your booking, we require you to reply to our email confirming that you have:
- Read this Professional Conduct Policy.Â
- Understood the standards of behaviour expected during your appointment.Â
- Agreed to abide by these standards throughout your treatment.Â
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Our aim is simple: to provide outstanding male intimate waxing treatments in an environment where every client feels welcome, every therapist feels respected, and professionalism comes first.
We look forward to welcoming you to nkd.
